- Reduce excessive alcohol consumption or medically necessary blood-thinning medication before the treatment to prevent bruising

- Stop taking aspirin or other NSAIDs such as ibuprofen for at least three days before your procedure

- Reduce caffeine and alcohol intake, as this can also cause your blood to thin

- Begin use of any topical oral medication at least a week before your appointment if you are prone to cold sores

We recommend the following precautions to allow the anti-wrinkle injections to work optimally in the targeted muscles:

- No rubbing or massaging treated areas upto 4 hours

- No strenuous exercise for 24 hours

- Avoid tight fitting headwear across the face

- Keep upright for 4 hours. Minimise activities such as shoe shopping

- No lying on your front such as sleeping on your face. 

- Limiting alcohol consumption for 24 hours after treatment to avoid bruising

- Drink lots of water, stay hydrated

Following your dermal filler treatment, you will feel tender, a little swollen and bruising may be apparent. This is all normal and should subside over the coming days. Below is a list of post treatment instructions to promote healing.

- Do not rub or touch the treatment areas for at least the next 4 – 6 hours to minimize your risk of infection

- No strenuous exercise for the next 24 – 48 hours

-No other facial or aesthetic treatments to the area for a minimum of 2 weeks

- No active skin care (retinoids / vitamin A / AHA’s) products for 24 hours after treatment

- Do not massage, press or push the areas injected unless otherwise directed by your practitioner

- Drink lots of water, stay hydrated

After the treatment, you may experience some soreness and pain over the treated areas.

- Wash your face at night

- Do not apply any moisturisers for 12 hours

- Do not wear any make-up for 24 hours. 

- Keep the area clean

FOR 7 DAYS FOLLOWING YOUR PDO THREADS APPOINTMENT: 

- Avoid sun exposure  

- Avoid anti-inflammatory drugs, including aspirin and ibuprofen   

- Avoid vitamin E, fish oil and ginkgo biloba 

- Avoid excessive alcohol  

- Avoid strenuous exercise (walking at a moderate pace is ok)

FOR THE 2 WEEKS FOLLOWING YOUR PDO THREADS APPOINTMENT: 

- Do not rub or massage the treated area  

- Avoid excess sun exposure   

- Restrict facial movement, including, chewing gum, opening your mouth wide and drinking with a straw  

- Avoid dental treatments  

- Avoid changes in body temperature, such as saunas, spas and ice baths
